What drew us to Santa Fe? Not every building here is the same. There are challenges, beauty, arts, and craftsmanship everywhere. The area lends itself to an artistic view and approach to building.
Southern Star Builders is a family of builders that, for over 50 years, has brought generational expertise and artisanal craftsmanship to every project.
Building homes in Virginia since 1976, circumstance brought the family to New Mexico for a “short” project. It was here, that the Henry’s approach to building was forever changed.
The foundation of Santa Fe’s style is old craft – sustainable, organic. The buildings truly encompass the desert environment. Not every building here is the same. There are challenges, beauty, arts, and craftsmanship everywhere and the area lends itself to an artistic view and approach to building. It’s more engaging than the crown mold and Victorian style like we were doing in Virginia. In Santa Fe, there are soft lines, curves, and beautiful finishes that can be implemented in countless ways to create something truly special.
